Research computing

Through the ASU Research Computing Core Facility, RTO provides technical expertise in all areas of computing, including parallel computing, big data analytics, scientific visualization, high-speed networking and cybersecurity. RTO also provides ASU faculty and students access to accelerated high-performance computing resources.

AI research support

AI is a powerful tool to advance research that matters to our communities. ASU Research Computing offers world-class AI models, tools and high-performance computing resources — including the Sol supercomputer and Intel AI accelerator chips —  to faculty, students, staff and community members.

Research data management

RTO offers services for every stage of the research data lifecycle: crafting a Data Management and Sharing Plan; generating and accessing data; processing, analyzing and storing data; and sharing, publishing and preserving data.

Regulated research services

ASU supports high-security research services for investigators working with sensitive data. RTO, in collaboration with Enterprise Technology, provides analysis and storage options for regulated research. 

RTO has partnered with the Arizona Department of Health Services and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to provide pre-approved environments for working with their data sources. 

Research cybersecurity and compliance professionals can consult on how to meet Data Use Agreement standards or assess custom technology.

Research engagement

Research engagement, the human side of technology, is critical to the success of RTO. Our mission is to ensure that science at ASU is technologically advanced and protected, serving individuals interested in research across our communities. We do this by making personal connections with the ASU research community, promoting collaboration and connecting researchers to cutting-edge technologies.

Research engagement is the starting point for RTO services. Our team of research facilitators and engagement professionals have a broad range of expertise to help researchers realize their technology goals. Research engagement creates long-term relationships with researchers.

RTO supports multiple Knowledge Enterprise departments across ASU. Our services include the Research Technology Support help desk, web services, SharePoint/Teams, automation and more.
