DMP Tool
Use the DMP Tool to guide you through the process of creating a data management and sharing plan (DMSP) with templates provided by funding agencies. You provide the content and it does the formatting for you. Guidance is available as you write the plan, created from funding agency materials and ASU-specific considerations. Log in with your ASURITE credentials to get feedback and information directly related to ASU.

DMSP AI Tool
This tool is designed to help you identify areas of your data management and sharing plan (DMSP) that may need improvement or additional detail. It also helps ensure compliance with NSF requirements. ASU researchers may submit a draft or final copy of their DMSP and receive an analysis report of the plan’s strengths and weaknesses. The ASU DMSP AI Tool is intended to support the DMP Tool.

Electronic Research Notebooks
An Electronic Research Notebook (ERN), sometimes called an electronic laboratory notebook (ELN), is a multi-functional data manager that can import protocols, notes, observations and other research data to organize all your information in one place. ASU has licensed LabArchives as our ERN solution and offers the product at no cost to faculty, researchers, staff and students for research activities. Using LabArchives will improve the quality of your research notes and help you process your findings more efficiently.

HIPAA REDCap
ASU offers a HIPAA REDCap instance. It is approved by RTO for the collection of HIPAA and “HIPAA-like” data and is hosted in a secure, private-cloud environment. Researchers wishing to use HIPAA REDCap will require prior approvals from the Institutional Review Board. Users of this version of REDCap are required to complete annual HIPAA Training. Sensitive data (having potential to harm survey participants if not sufficiently protected) requires additional management controls to ensure proper protection.
