    RTO offers research software engineering (RSE) services delivered by skilled engineers who understand both software development and the research process. Our services include custom software development, consulting on the planning and design of computational projects, and auditing existing software and code. Whether you’re starting a new project or improving an existing one, our team can help you succeed.

  • Research technology planning for proposals

    RTO offers research technology planning for proposals. Our experts understand the process, requirements, effort and deadlines that go into proposals. To strengthen your proposal, RTO can provide facility statements, hardware and storage quotes, letters of support or a consultation to discuss your research technology needs.

  • Research Technology Support

    Knowledge Enterprise Research Technology Support (RTS) is part of the broader Research Technology Office. RTS operates help desks across campus and provides multiple tiers of support. You may contact us with requests ranging from basic workstation needs to supercomputing and beyond. We will quickly connect you with the appropriate support group for your request and continue to monitor and support you until your needs have been fully addressed.

  • Reviews of cybersecurity requirements in contracts and proposals

    RTO has experts in all aspects of security and privacy that can advise on requirements. We can determine if standard services at ASU can meet the requirements included in agreements or contracts. We can also advise on content for proposals that require a section on cybersecurity, compliance or privacy.

  • RTO presentations and event tables

    RTO can provide an overview of all its services for your event, such as a new faculty orientation, a workshop or a department faculty meeting.

  • Sharing data or acquiring data from collaborators

    Sharing data with colleagues or organizations outside of ASU or receiving shared data from external partners may require a Data Use Agreement (DUA). Researchers are not permitted to enter into DUAs without authorization, and DUAs have to be signed by a designated individual with ASU’s signatory authority. To determine if you need a DUA to acquire data or for any agreement related questions, please contact KE Research Administration. To verify if proposed data sharing and management workflows can be met, please consult with the Research Data Management Office.

  • Sol Supercomputer

    Research Computing provides local access to ASU’s Sol supercomputer. Sol supports powerful open-source AI models to analyze datasets along with a suite of AI-powered tools, including MONAI, AlphaFold3, TensorFlow and PyTorch. These provide faculty, students and staff with a robust computing environment for AI-enabled research. Access to Sol is limited to ASU affiliates.

  • Synthetic health datasets

    SyntheticMass offers a selection of synthetic health datasets without cost or restriction. If you have a model that you wish to test against actual data, this may be a good option for you. If you do use these data, please ensure you cite them appropriately. Citation guidance is provided on the download page.
